Frequently Asked Questions

How do i know if I’ve got bedbugs

Bedbug blood spots

• Fresh blood spots appear when a recently‑fed bedbug is accidentally crushed during sleep.
• They show as small red or rusty smears on sheets, pillowcases, or the mattress edge.
• Fresh marks are bright red, drying to a darker brown as they age.
• These usually appear near the top of the bed, where bedbugs feed most.
• Bedbugs also leave dark faecal spots made from digested blood.
• These are tiny black or dark brown dots, like ink from a fine marker.
• They often appear in clusters along seams, tags, joints, and headboards.
• They bleed into fabric slightly and smear when wiped damp, confirming they’re faecal spotting.

Bedbugs shed their outer skin as they grow, leaving pale, translucent shells behind. Often found in the same hiding spots as faecal marks — seams, joints, corners, and cracks.

A build‑up of shed skins usually means ongoing, long‑term activity.

Why is heat better than steam and spray

Steam treatment is not to be confused with our heat treatment.

Steam only heats small surface patches, so bedbugs can escape into deeper areas of the furniture.
Our heat treatment is completely different — the entire item is brought up to and held at proven lethal temperatures, right through the slats, joints, fabrics and voids.
It reaches places steam simply can’t, kills eggs, and delivers a full, reliable result.
Steam only heats small surface patches, so bedbugs can run, hide or drop deeper into the furniture.
True heat treatment heats the entire item right through, including joints, voids and the inside of divan bases — no cold spots, no escape routes.
If the whole item doesn’t reach and hold lethal temperature, it’s not heat treatment.

What exactly is the heat chamber Service?

Our Heat chamber is a contained high‑temperature treatment for bedbug‑infested furniture and belongings. It can be set up in the bedroom or the living room, depending on what needs treated.

BEDROOM USE

Bed slats and frames
Headboards
Bedside furniture
Clothing and clutter

LIVING ROOM USE

Infested lounge suites Sofas, chairs, cushions

• Suitcases, travel bags, additional clutter or soft furnishings

How it works

• Items are placed inside a sealed heat chamber
• The chamber is heated to lethal bedbug temperatures, monitored with probes.
• Heat stays fully contained.
• Treatment continues until all items reach and hold the required kill temperature.

Will it damage my furniture or bedding?

No. The heat tent is designed to treat safely — we monitor temperatures closely and protect anything that shouldn’t get hot.

How long does it take

A minimum of four hours from setup to pack‑down. That gives the heat time to reach lethal levels and stay there long enough to do the job properly. You’ll be back in your room the same day.
